People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: Oct. 25, 2019

Kate Simpson has joined REIN's advisory board. Simpson brings over 20 years of insurance experience, most recently serving as vice president of risk solutions at Lyft. FM Global has appointed Sonserae Toles vice president, inclusion. Before joining FM Global, Toles served for approximately three years as group vice president of global talent management at T. Rowe Price. Juan Herrera has been appointed Munich Reinsurance America Inc.'s first full-time head of diversity and inclusion. Previously, Herrera spent two years at AXA XL as a global diversity and inclusion partner. Erie Indemnity Company announced that Brian W. Bolash has been appointed senior vice president and general counsel for the company and affiliated companies of the Erie Insurance Group, effective Oct. 24, 2019. He previously served as the company's vice president, corporate secretary and senior counsel. Anita Kuchma has been appointed chief operations officer of Munich Reinsurance America Inc.'s reinsurance division. In 2019, she joined the company's reinsurance division to lead the professional liability and cyber team. Aon plc appointed Lisa Stevens chief people officer. Stevens joined Aon just under a year ago from Wells Fargo where she was a 29-year veteran leading the Western region of the United States. Ramon Jones, a 19-year veteran of Nationwide, has been appointed chief marketing officer. He most recently held the position of financial services marketing leader for Nationwide. CNA announced the following appointments:

• Mark James - chief risk and reinsurance officer
• Al Miralles - president of CNA Warranty

Bill Vit has been appointed to DOXA Insurance Holdings LLC's board of directors. He brings more than 40 years of experience, most notably as the head of Aon Affinity's business practice. Risk Strategies appointed Bob Dubraski chief growth officer. He previously served as national health care practice leader for Risk Strategies. Joseph Hurley has joined Willis Towers Watson's Silicon Valley Tech Center of Excellence, where he will lead the company's platform for the marketplace, sharing and gig economy. He previously worked at Lyft as a senior manager, risk solutions. California-based risk management and strategic insurance solutions company Burnham Risk announced that John Huttinger will serve as executive vice president and partner after Burnham Risk acquired SeaTech Insurance Agency Inc./Pacific United Insurance last month. Huttinger served as president of SeaTech Insurance Agency/Pacific United Insurance. Mark Groenheide has been appointed senior vice president, specialty at GuideOne Insurance. He joins GuideOne from HDI Global Insurance Company, where he served as vice president engineering lines North American underwriting. The Insurance House announced the following hires:

• Curt Mayer - commercial lines insurance producer
• Brittny Reising - personal lines producer

Dominic Samengo-Turner has been appointed global facultative leader at Guy Carpenter & Company. He previously served as head of Marsh JLT Specialty, Asia. Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (MMA) appointed Paul Hering vice-chairman. Before this, Hering served as chairman of MMA's West region. David Overton and Ryan Kratz have joined EmergIn Risk, part of the Ryan Specialty Group family and a series of RSG Underwriting Managers, as director of sales and underwriter-cyber, respectively. Overton comes to EmergIn from Integro Insurance Brokers, where he was a principal. Kratz joins EmergIn from the law firm of Kissel Hirsch & Wilmer LLP. The Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA), an independent nonprofit standard-setting and certification organization for automotive crash parts, announced the election of four industry leaders to its technical committee, which develops, maintains, reviews and refines the CAPA Quality Standards, as well as CAPA's American National Standards. Joining the committee are: Scott Benavidez of Mr. B's Paint & Body Shop; Mike Dolabi of National Autobody Parts Warehouse Inc.; Scott Kohl of Liberty Mutual Insurance; and Jim Sherman of Meyer Distributing. Aon plc appoints Michael Moran executive vice president of delivering Aon United. Most recently, Moran was CEO of Aon Inpoint. Martha Conlin has joined Troutman Sanders' insurance and reinsurance practice in Chicago as a partner. She was previously a partner at Kennedys CMK and at Cozen O'Connor. CRC Group hired Greg Watson as office president. He comes to CRC with over 10 years of industry experience, where he began his career as a personal lines underwriter. Lisa Maciolek has been named national account manager for HomeCare Connect, which manages home health services in the workers' compensation industry. Most recently, she served as assistant vice president, account management for Optum. Ethos expanded its executive team with the hiring of Brett Wilson as the company's first vice president of risk & actuarial. He most recently served as chief financial officer of Old Mutual Limited's Latin American division. Michael Brown has joined Newfront Insurance as chief operating officer. He joins Newfront from Uber, where he was responsible for all aspects of Uber's business across Southeast Asia and Australia. Direct Connection Advertising & Marketing, a full-service, integrated marketing and communications firm specializing in providing services for property & casualty wholesale insurance brokers and other insurance entities, promoted Kristen Nevins to the director of marketing and operations. She served as an account manager prior to her promotion. Michelle Sipple has joined Everest Insurance as vice president and head of inland marine. She comes to the company from American International Group, where she most recently held the title of senior vice president and global head of inland marine.
