Sunil Rajaraman has joined Metromile as its chief marketing officer. Before joining Metromile, Rajaraman was most recently an entrepreneur-in-residence at Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm Foundation Capital, where he advised startups on go-to-market strategies. Burns & Wilcox Brokerage added Anthony Greene to its leadership team as vice president, broker. Before this, he worked with Turner Surety and Insurance Brokerage as a senior risk advisor. Jane Possell has been appointed chief information officer at CNA. Possell most recently served as vice president, U.S. digital and business insurance technology at Liberty Mutual Insurance. Transatlantic Underwriters appointed Colby Waltenburg president. He expanded the presence of the company by opening the first West Coast branch, located in Stockton, Calif. State of Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Andrew N. Mais has been elected to serve on the executive committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS). The IAIS is the international standard-setting body responsible for developing and implementing global principles, standards and guidance for the supervision of the insurance sector. Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited announced that Mary Kotch has been appointed chief information officer. She previously served in senior executive technology roles at Validus Group and AIG. Tyler Tokioka has been appointed chairman of the board at Island Insurance, Hawaii's largest locally-owned property & casualty insurance carrier. Tokioka first joined the company in 1999 and has held various leadership roles, including president of the charitable Island Insurance Foundation. Guidewire Software Inc. announced the following appointments to its board of directors:
  • Margaret Dillon - from December 1993 to September 2007, she has served in various roles at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, including as senior vice president and chief financial officer, among others.
  • Michael Keller - has served as chairman of Guidewire's customer strategic advisory councils since April 2019
  • Catherine Lego - currently a member of the board of directors of Cypress Semiconductor Corporation
Sarah Nelms has joined Syndicate Claim Services Inc. as the chief financial & strategic operations officer. Her most recent position was chief administrative officer and chief financial officer at the Kinney Group. Liberty Mutual Insurance appointed David Perez chief underwriting officer, North America for global risk solutions, Liberty Mutual's global commercial and specialty lines reinsurer. Most recently, he was executive vice president of the company's national insurance specialty unit. Alonso Y. Tello has been appointed to lead a local captive practice launched by AXA XL. Tello joins AXA XL from Zurich, where he most recently served as senior fronting manager - captive services and ART. POWERS Insurance & Risk Management hired Rachel Winkelmann as its newest commercial lines account manager. Prior to joining POWERS, she utilized her investigation and management skills as a claims professional at Vanliner Insurance. David Priebe has been appointed to the role of chairman of Guy Carpenter & Company LLC. He was most recently vice chairman of Guy Carpenter. Encova Insurance CEO Dave Kaufman has announced his decision to retire, effective Dec. 31, 2019. The board of directors has elected TJ Obrokta Jr., president and chief operating officer, to be his successor and serve as president and CEO. Chris Warren has been hired to serve as a risk management consultant for Assurance's construction and real estate practices. Prior to this, he was a vice president of construction at Early Cassidy & Schilling LLC. ClearPath Mutual Insurance Company appointed Alan Simpson director of information technology.
