In National Underwriter Property & Casualty's July print edition, we present our annual list of the Top 100 Groups and Top 100 Companies in P&C insurance. We also examine the top 5 writers of coverage in 10 key lines of business.

All of the lists are based on data supplied by S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Here, we present the top five writers in five key lines: Commercial Auto, Inland Marine; Product Liability; Surety; and stand-alone Cybersecurity.

The rankings in nine of these individual lines (Commercial Auto, Inland Marine, Fire, etc.) reflect net premiums written (in $000s), with the exception of stand-alone Cybersecurity, which are ranked by direct premiums written due to the fact that NAIC statements do not disclose net premiums written for those lines.

In stand-alone Cyber, AIG and XL Group continue to dominate the market; it's worth noting that AIG has been able to garner a huge amount of market share in a relatively short period: Two years ago, AIG wasn't even in the top 5 Cyber leaders.

The entire Top 100 package is also featured in NU's July print edition.

The S&P Global Market Intelligence data featured here is derived from all U.S. companies that file with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).
