Everyone who has ever been involved with planning a wedding will tell you how stressful it is. From the guests and food to the seating arrangement and music, no detail can be overlooked.
Unfortunately, everything can't be accounted for and some unexpected inconveniences may pop up and disrupt all the wedding plans. Whether it's inclement weather or contractual dispute with a hired party, consider covering your wedding with some insurance to mitigate all possible risks.
More than 40% of 2017 wedding insurance claims stemmed from the need to cancel or postpone the big day, according to data from Aon Affinity's WedSafe. WedSafe offers two insurance options: wedding liability insurance and wedding postponement/cancellation insurance.
“Cancelling or postponing a wedding is absolutely the last thing on your mind when you're in the planning process, but our numbers show it's very much a reality that couples must face,” said Steve Lauro, vice president of Aon Affinity, in a statement. “Brides and grooms have to plan for the unexpected to protect their investment.”
With this in mind, above is a slideshow ranking of the top four wedding insurance claims of 2017.
