Chronovo Inc. has appointed Rick Woollams chief claims officer to its Chronovo Consulting Practice Group. His specific focus with the group will center on property & casualty claims performance assessments, operating model design and re-engineering, expert witness testimony and cost mitigation strategies.

Charles Fry has been appointed head of reinsurance, operations and transformation, general insurance, effective immediately, for American International Group, Inc. He previously served as Group CFO at Novae Group plc.  

Distinguished Programs, a national insurance program manager, has named Brett Borelli as the company's new vice president of Strategic Program Development and Property Practice Leader. Prior to joining Distinguished Programs, Borelli was a managing director with Aon's National Property Practice in New York. 

Claude Yoder has been appointed global chief innovation and product development office of Guy Carpenter & Company LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies. Most recently, Yoder served as head of Marsh Global Analytics, a global team that delivered solutions supporting Marsh's global insurance broking and consulting activities. 

Willis Towers Watson has announced the following appointments to its North America Corporate Risk and Broking business: 

  • Sandie Mullen - head of Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical Casualty Broking, North America
  • Joseph LaRocco - head of Carrier Management, North America
  • Raymond Gahwyler - head of operations for North America Broking

USI Insurance Services has appointed Chris Swensen property & casualty practice leader for its Salt Lake City, Utah, office. Swensen joins USI with 18 years of insurance industry knowledge. 

Robin R. Rider has joined Lockton's Mountain West Series and will serve the Denver and Las Vegas office on the property & casualty team. Rider previously spent more than a decade at Willis Towers Watson working with real estate, hospitality and construction clients. 

National wholesale insurance brokerage and managing general agent Worldwide Facilities has appointed John Galaviz CFO. Prior to joining Worldwide Facilities, he served as CFO for Answer Financial, an Allstate company providing online distribution of property & casualty insurance. 

Maydelis Torres has been promoted to vice president of the real estate practice at New Day Underwriting Managers LLCTorres previously served as technology and life sciences underwriter and middle market manager for the Pennsylvania territory at The Hartford Insurance Companies.

Lee Exton has been appointed managing director of employee benefits and total rewards for VenbrookMost recently, Exton served as principal at Mercer developing innovative and effective employee benefit solutions.

Bob Schmidt has been appointed national vice president, sales management for HomeCare Connect, which manages the quality and cost of home healthcare, medical equipment and home modifications in workers' compensation. Prior to HomeCare Connect, Schmidt was an account executive for Exam Works Clinical Solutions. 

Argo Pro has appointed Tim Barrett assistant vice president of underwriting, lawyer's professional. Most recently, Barrett was the assistant vice president of professional liability at Crum & Forster. 

Kathryn A. Walker has been elected to the Casualty Actuarial Society board of directors. Walker currently serves as a consulting actuary with Pinnacle Actuarial Resources Inc.
