In the fortnight after Hurricane Harvey, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) received over 80,000 insurance claims.
Thousands more claims are expected as a result of Hurricane Irma.
For each of those claims, an adjuster must visit the claim site and assess the damage. Due to the high demand for adjusters after a natural disaster, many travel from their home states to assist in adjusting the loss.
Many states require adjusters to be licensed in order to practice there. States that require adjusters to be licensed often have exceptions and particular requirements for those out-of-state adjusters who come in only for a catastrophic event.
The searchable chart below identifies those states and their requirements.
