The 72nd annual Workers' Compensation Educational Conference, presented by the Workers' Compensation Institute, opened on Aug. 6 at the Orlando World Center Marriott in Orlando, Florida.

During the opening general session, National Underwriter Property & Casualty Editor-in-Chief Shawn Moynihan presented its Excellence in Workers' Compensation Risk Management awards to Brian Rodgers, senior director of corporate risk management for Butterball LLC; Bob Alford, human resources manager of Cherokee County, Georgia; and Neftali Ortiz, director of risk management at Nations Roof LLC. After the presentation, Moynihan spoke to the crowd about getting involved in WCI's volunteer day at Give Kids the World village in Kissimmee, Florida. Watch his moving speech following the awards presentation in the video above.
