National Underwriter Property & Casualty presented four carriers with awards for their outstanding results in the Risk Manager Choice Awards. AIG, FM Global, Swiss Re and Chubb all received their awards at the 2017 RIMS conference at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia earlier this week. 

The Risk Manager Choice Awards iis a national survey conducted by Flaspöhler, part of NMG Consulting. It recognizes the "top" Property & Casualty carriers named by risk professionals in their efforts to mitigate exposures.

Chubb takes top honors

Chubb took top honors this year as the overall pick for Best Commercial Insurance Provider, and was named by risk managers as the top insurer in three product lines: D&O, Employment Practices Liability and Surety. Chubb also received high marks for timely service.

Shawn Moynihan, editor-in-chief of NUPC, presented the award for Best Commercial Insurance Provider to Teresa Black, executive vice president, and Scott Meyer, division president, financial lines of Chubb, at their booth at RIMS 2017.

Stephanie Boone, head of claims, North America; Ivan Gonzalez, CEO North America; Rudolf Flunger, chief regions officer, corporate solutions; and James George, head of claims accept the Risk Manager Choice Award for No. 1 Carrier by 8 Key Factors from Moynihan at RIMS 2017.

Swiss Re and FM Global rate high in key factors

Swiss Re, the highest scoring carrier on eight factors critical to risk managers combined, took top honors in several individual factors, including claims handling, financial value and international capability. Likewise, FM Global was rated tops in client orientation; expertise/market knowledge/risk management advice; financial security; and underwriting capabilities. FM Global received the award for No. 1 Carrier in 4 Key Factors.

Bret Ahnell, executive vice president of FM Global, accepted the Risk Manager Choice Award for No. 1 Carrier in 4 Key Factors at RIMS.

Moynihan presented the award for No. 1 Carrier in 12 Lines of Business to Robert Schimek, executive vice president and CEO, Commercial, AIG.

AIG ranks highest in 12 product lines

AIG ranked the highest in an impressive dozen product lines, including Cyber Liability, Commercial Multi-Peril, Commercial Excess Flood, General Liability and Terrorism. AIG scored the most "wins" among 20 lines of business, with FM Global and Liberty Mutual scoring the highest in two lines each.
