Columbus, Ohio-based brokerage group Assurex Global said it elected Matt Donnelly as chairman of its board of directors. Donnelly remains the managing director of Liverpool, England-based independent insurance broker Griffiths & Armour.
New York City-based insurance giant American International Group Inc. said it has appointed Hugh Tamassia chief enterprise architect. He joins from New York City-based JPMorgan Chase, where he was chief technology officer.
AIG also said it appointed Peter Y. Solmssen executive vice president and general counsel. He joins from his own private consulting practice.
Naples, Florida-based specialty program manager Dual North America said Jim Giordano will join the company as a nonexecutive director. He retired in 2015 after working over 40 years in the industry, most recently as cofounder and chief underwriting officer of Zurich-based specialty reinsurer Canopius Group.
Dual also said it appointed Steve Donovan head of its habitation division.
New York City-based insurance broker Marsh said it has appointed David Hewett U.S. contract surety leader in its construction practice. He joins from XL Surety, where he was president.
London-based specialty insurer Brit Ltd. said it has appointed Will Frohne vice president of cargo, and Craig McGinnes vice president of yacht in its newly formed marine business at Brit Global Specialty USA. Frohne joins from Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty where he was head of underwriting growth markets marine. McGinnes joins from Falvey Yacht Insurance, where he was underwriting manager.
Houston-based specialty insurer Tokio Marine HCC said it has appointed Brad Breau senior vice president and chief information officer. He joins from American International Group, where he was chief technology officer for its life and retirement division.
The Los Angeles-based Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation said it has appointed Alisa Breese director of marketing and communications. She joins from Ace Recreational Marine Insurance, where she was director of marketing and communications.
Alexandria, Virginia-based insurance industry educational program InVEST said Barbara Walker, CAWC, has joined its national board as an agent member. She remains vice president of Michigan-based Hartland Insurance Agency.
Schaumburg, Illinois-based insurer Zurich North America said it has promoted David Putz to head of direct markets and programs from head of direct markets, effective at the start of 2017. He joined the company in 1995.
Encino, California-based specialty insurer NAS Insurance said it has appointed Matt Sherman senior vice president of its specialty reinsurance and programs division.
