The first official NAPSLO annual meeting took place in conjunction with the National Association of Independent Insurers annual meeting in November 1975, with an initial membership of 62 people. In 1977, membership had increased to 231 firms. A year later, in 1978, the first NAPSLO convention not hold in connection with the NAII meeting took place in San Francisco. Last year in Atlanta, the 2015 Annual Convention was attended by 4,179 surplus lines professionals from the United States and Great Britain.
