Bermuda-based specialist insurer Hiscox said it is now offering a combined cyber risk and professional liability insurance for U.S. hospitals called “Healthcare Treat Protect.” 

McLean, Virginia-based Consumer Specialties Insurance Co. said it has reduced premium levels on its commercial general liability policy for prospective companies with annual revenue below $500,000. 

The Wilmington, Delaware-based nonprofit coalition ID Federation said it has added three insurance professionals to its board of directors: Danny Blood, chief technology officer and chief engineer at Boston Software; Andrew Martin, vice president of IT applications at Liberty Mutual; and Peggy Mongar, marketing consultant at EMC Insurance Cos. 

The Minneapolis-based Insurance Marketing & Communications Association said it has elected Anna Hargis, director of advertising at Shelter Insurance, as chairman of its board of directors for a two-year term. Hargis has been a member of IMCA's board since 2009 and most recently served as executive vice chairman of the association's executive board. 

The organization also said it has also elected the following officers for its executive board: 

  • Emily Hathcoat of CNA as executive vice chairman.                 
  • Valerie Foster of Monitor Liability Managers as treasurer.                                                 
  • Mark Friedlander of the Main Street America Group as immediate past chairman.

The organization also announced its newly elected board directors: 

  • Jim Flynn, president and certified brand strategist at Hult Marketin.
  • Taylor Moore, marketing manager of McLarens Global Claims Services.
  • Paula Negro, director of content, communications and media relations at Starr Cos.
  • Bethany Schacherer, senior marketing partner at American Modern Insurance.

Angela Kim, John Abbott, John Reints and Lauri Klotz were re-elected to two-year terms.

Jersey City, New Jersey-based data analytics provider Verisk Insurance Solutions said it has created a new energy insurance unit focused on risk assessment, rating and risk modeling for the oil and gas, petrochemicals, power generation, and metals and mining industries. 

Tampa, Florida-based Ivans Insurance Solutions said that Hartford, Connecticut-based data integration and analytics software provider Insurity has joined its partner program.

Hartford, Connecticut-based insurance and financial services company Phoenix Cos. Inc. said it has rebranded with the logo of its new parent company, New York City-based Nassau Reinsurance Group Holdings L.P. 

Yardley, Pennsylvania-based insurance fraternity Gamma Iota Sigma said it will host its 45th Annual International Conference from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1, in Columbus, Ohio. The three-day conference includes over 25 educational sessions, leadership seminars and forums led by industry professionals, the organization said. 

Monsey, New York-based national insurance brokerage Evergreen Insurance & Risk Management said it has acquired the assets of New Jersey-based commercial lines insurance provider Sheridan & Company Group LLC and T.J. Sheridan & Co. Inc. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. 

Valhalla, New York-based insurance brokerage and consulting company USI Insurance Services said it has entered into an agreement in principle to acquire Atlanta-based retail property and casualty and employee benefits insurance brokerage firm Johnson & Bryan. All employees at Johnson & Bryan will be offered employment by USI, the company said, adding that it expects to reach a definitive agreement with Johnson & Bryan and close the transaction by the fourth quarter of 2016. Terms of the agreement in principle were not disclosed. 

Dublin-based professional services giant Accenture said it has created a prototype of a new capability that enables blockchain technology to be edited under extraordinary circumstances to resolve human errors, accommodate legal and regulatory requirements, and address mischief and other issues, while preserving key cryptographic features.
