Miami-based law firm Akerman LLP said it has elected David I. Spector, co-chair of Akerman's Fraud & Recovery Practice Group, to succeed Andrew M. Smulian as the firm's ninth chairman and CEO. Spector will serve a three-year term beginning Feb. 1, 2018. Spector joined the firm in 2009.
