Munich, Germany-based insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty said it is hired four people for its environmental impairment liability team in its North American and Mediterranean regions:

    • Ken Baker has been appointed claims specialist. He joins from American International Group and is based in New York City.
    • Nicole Baker has been apointed executive underwriter. She joins from American International Group and is based in Houston.
    • Steve Tagert has been appointed executive underwriter. He joins from American International Group and is based in Philadelphia.
    • Dámaso Alvarez Peña has been appointed head of environmental impairment liability for the company's Mediterranean region. He joins from Chubb and is based in Madrid.

The company also announced it has named Peter Borchers CEO of its recently established Allianz X unit, effective Oct. 1. He joins from Deutsche Telekom's inubator and accelerator unit.

London-based risk management, insurance brokerage and financial advisory company Willis Towers Watson said it has promoted Mark Goode to managing director of its recently established North America public entity practice from senior vice president of of the company's Atlantic and South region public entity practice. He joined in the company in 2004, and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Edmonton, Alberta-based independent insurance services provider SCM Insurance Services said it has appointed Scott Goodreau chief operating officer for its U.S. operations. He joins from Hub Interational, where he was chief sales officer.

New York City-based insurance brokerage and risk management company Integro Insurance Brokers said it has named Jan P. Berger managing principal to lead its Los Angeles office and the Southern California entertainment practice. He joins from Live Nation Entertainment Inc., where he was vice president and chief risk officer.

Integro also said it has named Chad Cascadden a principal in its New York City office. He joins from Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., where he was vice president of commercial insurance.

Toronto-based Accident Support Services International said it has appointed Ed Weidmann chairman of its U.S. industry advisory board. He recently retired from State Farm Insurance Co., where he served for 39 years. 

Denver-based financial investigations company RGL Forensics said it has appointed Christian Skodczinski a partner and head of its new office in Frankfurt, Germany. He joins from SV-Büro Skodczinski, where he was a forensic accountant.

Skodczinski will be joined by his colleague Julia Clemens-Bayer, and also by Craig Hamilton, who has relocated from RGL's London office. 

Zurich-based specialty reinsurer Sompo Canopius AG said it has appointed John Ellis head of its U.S. ocean marine business. He joins from XL Catlin and is based in New York City.

Sompo Canopius also said it has hired Angela Nolan as underwriting assistant vice president. She joins from XL Catlin.

Boston-based insurance brokerage Risk Strategies Co. said it has named Sandy Leon senior vice president and family office practice leader for the Midwest region for its Chicago-based private client group, and Andrew Bonk senior account executive, also for the private client group. Both join from Hub International.

Jersey City, New Jersey-based risk management services firm Hanover Stone Partners said it has appointed Katherine Smith Dedrick, William M. Goddard and David A. Seibert senior risk advisors in the company's Midwest region. 

Dedrick joins from her own consulting company, KSD Consulting, and is based in Chicago. Goddard joins from Brown Smith and Wallace and is based in St. Louis. Seibert joins from Integrated Governance Solutions LLC and is based in St. Paul, Minnesota.
