People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: Aug. 5, 2016

Kansas City, Mo.-based independent insurance broker Lockton Cos. said it has added Andrew Carr as commercial insurance team leader. Carr joins from Integro Insurance Brokers, where he was a managing principal. He is basedin in Atlanta.

Lockton also said it has named Peter Schmitz senior vice president and aviation practice leader. Schmitz joins from Aon, where he was CEO of its global aviation specialty business. He is based in South Florida.

Bangor, Maine-based independent insurance provider Cross Insurance said it has hired Christopher S. Hersey as vice president and treasurer for Cross Financial Corp. He joins from Dead River, where he was treasurer.

Chicago-based insurance brokerage Hub International Ltd. said that it has named Edward McConnell senior vice president and national staffing practice leader, and Clint Anderson president of specialty practices, both as part of Hub International Midwest. McConnell joins from Assurance, where he was vice president for employee benefits. Anderson also joins from Assurance, where he was a principal.

Hub also said Tommy Suggs, formerly president and CEO of KeenanSuggs, will join the company as president and CEO of the Carolinas region for Hub Southeast, and Mitch Watson, formerly CFO and COO of KeenanSuggs, will join as COO of the Carolinas region following its previously announced acquisition of the assets of Columbia, South Carolian-based KeenanSuggs Insurance Inc. 

Reno, Nevada-based Employers Holdings Inc. said it has promoted Matthew Hendricksen to vice president of Employers Holdings, treasury and investments, from director of treasury and investment. He joined the company in 2012.

London-based adjusting and claims management company Cunningham Lindsey said it has made the following promotions:

• • Harry Patel to global chief operating officer of its Americas region from CEO of the Americas region. He is based in Tampa.
  • David Repinski to CEO of its Americas region from president and chief client officer of its Americas region. He is based in Dallas.
  • Jim Buckley to U.S. president and COO from senior vice president and director of commercial lines for the U.S. region He is based in Dallas.

Tampa, Florida-based real estate and financial services company Franklin Street said it has hired Nancy Sheinberg as vice president of insurance services. She joins from Bouchard Insurance, where she was a commercial lines manager.

Novato, California-based Professional Program Insurance Brokerage said it has promoted Susan Etter to vice president of underwriting. She joined the company in 2010.

Dublin-based insurance and reinsurance giant XL Catlin said it has appointed Richard Abizaid  head of the Americas and regional product leader for political risk and trade credit. He joins from Zurich Insurance Group, where he was senior vice president and head of its Americas team for credit and political risk. Abizaid is Based in Washington D.C.
