New York City-based Starr Cos. said it has appointed Dorian Grey president of its Latin America sivision. Based in Miami, Grey joins Starr from American International Group.

Austin, Texas-based Combined Agents of America LLC said it has named Peter Cross, CPCU, CIC, ARM, chief executive officer. Cross, who has more than 25 years of industry experience, will report directly to CAA's board. He joins from ARM Risk Solutions, where he was managing director.

Munich, Germany-based insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty said it has promoted Maggie Beattie to underwriting manager of entertainment for Canada. Based in Toronto, Beattie joined Allianz in 2014 as an underwriting specialist. 

AGCS also said it has promoted John Hastings to head of property for Canada. Based in Toronto, Hastings, who joined AGCS in 2014, was director of key client management for AGCS in Canada,

The Boston-based nonprofit Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare said it has made the following appointments to its board of directors: 

  • Ruth Kilduff, R.N., chairwoman.
  • Kerry A. Flynn, J.D., board member.
  • Candace Young board member.
  • Sharon McNally vice chairman.
  • Joyce A. Murphy elected clerk.

Boston-based insurance strategic advisory firm Strategy Meets Action said that industry expert Karen Pauli has joined the company as a principal. Pauli joined SMA from CEB TowerGroup, where she led the property and casualty insurance advisory practice for over 10 years.

Santa Ana, California-based law firm Adelson, Testan, Brundo, Novell & Jimenez said it has appointed Alison J. Schefer and Daniel J. Simpson as partners in Fort Lauderdale. The firm also announced that Schefer will lead the West Palm Beach office, when it opens later this month. Schefer has nearly 30 years of experience as an attorney in Florida. Simpson has 16 years of experience as an attorney in Florida. 

London-based Lloyd's insurance and reinsurance broker RFIB Group Ltd. said it has appointed Tony Martin director and Stephane Boiron associate director of its new membership services business. Martin and Boiron join from Miller Insurance Services.

Valhalla, New York-based insurance brokerage and consulting company USI Insurance Services said that David A. Nurre has been named president of employee benefits for its Cincinnati, Ohio, office. Nurre has been with USI Insurance Services since 1998 when he joined the team as a summer intern.

Quincy, Massachusetts-based independent insurance brokerage XS Brokers said it has hired Alan Dudkiewicz, CIC, as vice president of its new greater Philadelphia office, effective Aug. 1. He joins from Jimcor Agencies where he was vice president and regional manager.

Presque Isle, Maine-based property and casualty insurer MMG Insurance Co. said it has promoted John Herweh to vice president and director of human resources. Herweh succeeds Lynn Lombard who retired on July 1, after a 45 year career with the company. Herweh joins from NJVC LLC, where he was vice president of human resources.
