Around the P&C insurance industry: June 1, 2016

Boston-based insurance brokerage Risk Strategies Co. said it has acquired Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based brokerage Atlass Insurance Group. Terms were not disclosed, but Risk Strategies said that Atlass employees will continue to work from their Florida and Rhode Island offices.losed. 

Salem, N.J.-based property and casualty insurer Farmers of Salem said for it second-quarter “Earn More, Give Back” charitable drive, which allows its agents to donate $15 per policy to support Habitat for Humanity, that six agencies have already donated to more than 15 policies each. The company said it plans to raise $15,000 for Habitat for Humanity affiliates in New Jersey and Maryland.

Farmers of Salem also said its employees participated in the annual women's build for Habitat for Humanity of Salem County, N.J.. on May 6. 

The Minneapolis-based Insurance Marketing & Communications Association said it will host its 2016 Annual Conference June 19-21 at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore on the Inner Harbor. The company said the conference will also feature the presentation of the IMCA Innovation Torchbearer Award and the Showcase Awards. 

Jersey City, N.J.-based data analytics provider Verisk Insurance Solutions said it has expanded its FireLine wildfire risk management to the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. 

Owings Mills, Md.-based managed IT services provider Kite Technology Group said it has launched its new agency consulting division to be led by Aurora Burg, who joins from Baltimore agency Maury Donnelly & Parr Inc. 

Irvine, Calif.-based wireless products, services and software provider CalAmp said it will offer Instant Crash Notification in 2016. The company said the software is designed to provide users with immediate notification of a collision, as well as extensive reporting of crash data, delivered via e-mail, text messaging and through an application programming interface. 

Peabody, Mass.-based insurance and risk management software provider Energi said it has released eServices, a software platform providing risk management, claims and marketing services.

Memphis, Tenn.-based claims management services company Sedgwick said it will acquire Ireland-based  outsource services provider OSG Group. As part of the purchase agreement, OSG's team will join the international operations of Sedgwick and its subsidiary, Vericlaim. The transaction is expected to close this month.
