San Francisco-based EPIC Insurance Brokers said its senior vice president, Mark Niebuhr, has been named 2016 Energi Elite Producer by Peabody, Mass.-based insurance and risk management solutions provider Energi. Neibuhr was also recognized earlier this year as a 2016 Power Broker in the Manufacturing sector by Risk and Insurance Magazine.
Amelia, Ohio-based American Modern Insurance Group recognized five individuals as the company’s 2015 Sales Leaders, for their outstanding work and contribution to the company. The Sales Leader Awards are given in the following categories: National, West, East, Central and National Accounts.
The five recognized individuals are:
- 2015 National Sales Leader of the Year - Mason Harris, west region senior territory sales manager based in Culver City, Calif.
- 2015 West Region Sales Leader of the Year - Levi Fisher, senior territory sales manager based in Gilbert, Arizona –This marks the second consecutive year that Fisher has achieved this recognition.
- 2015 East Region Sales Leader of the Year - Todd Hiott, assistant vice president and senior territory sales manager based in Anderson, S.C.
- 2015 Central Region Sales Leader of the Year - Brett Carter, senior sales territory manager based in Chicago.
- 2015 National Accounts Sales Leader of the Year - Sheri Wilson, vice president of national accounts based in Phoenix.
Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Aspen Insurance appointed Lorraine Seib as global head of excess casualty. Based in New York, Seib brings to Aspen more than 35 years of experience and will report to David Cohen, president & chief underwriting officer. Lorraine joins Aspen Insurance from XL Catlin, where she most recently served as president of Global Excess Casualty Insurance.
Zurich-based reinsurer Swiss Re named three managing directors as part of the restructuring of its U.S. property & casualty markets. All three U.S. property and casualty market leaders will assume their new roles effective May 2:
- Keith Wolfe has been appointed president of U.S. property and casualty – regional and national and will assume the role of president of Swiss Reinsurance America Corp.
- Seth Ruff has been named president of U.S. property and casualty – large clients, and will lead the divisional client executives team. Ruff also will oversee Swiss Re’s client market underwriters and assume the role of president of Swiss Re Underwriters Agency Inc.
- Ute Michaelsen has been appointed head of property and casualty facultative and will lead all facultative teams direct and brokered in the U.S. and Canada.
Joe Orr, EVP of Insurance at Clearlink, joined the advisory board of Cambridge, Mass-based startup Insurify Inc. Prior to joining Clearlink, Orr served as senior vice president of marketing and product development at Answer Financial.
EY recognized Ernie Bray, CEO of ACD, as a semifinalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 San Diego Award. Now in its 30th year, the awards program recognizes entrepreneurs in over 145 cities and 60 countries who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Finalists will be announced Wed., May 25, and winners will be announced at a formal Awards Gala on Monday, June 20.
Bermuda-based specialty insurance and reinsurance products underwriter Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. appointed Craig Landi as president of Argo Pro U.S. Landi joins Argo Group from Freedom Specialty Insurance where he served as president and chief operating officer. He also has held senior leadership roles at Arch Insurance Group, ACE Insurance Co., CNA Insurance Co. and American International Group.
Linda Regner Dykeman joined Munich-based specialist corporate insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty as head of Mid-Corp, effective April 18. Based in Toronto, Dykeman will focus on the development and execution of the local Mid-Corp strategy for the region, while supporting global development initiatives. With more than 25 years of commercial insurance and leadership experience, Dykeman joins Allianz from Travelers Canada, where she served as head of business insurance, responsible for Canada's Business Insurance strategy.
Sompo America Insurance Services, the operating company of Sompo America Holdings, appointed Lisa Davis as president and chief operating officer. Davis succeeds H. Clark Jackson who will move to the newly created role of chief marketing officer. Davis joined Sompo in January, 2015 as executive vice president. Prior to that, she was regional vice president for Zurich, North America. Davis brings more than 25 years of experience in underwriting, business/relationship development, and management/leadership to Sompo.
