Bermuda-based Fidelis Insurance announced that it has been approved by the Bank of England's Prudential Regulation Authority to begin operation of its U.K. business, which will begin underwriting immediately. The London-based subsidiary is led by Dan Burrows as U.K. chief executive officer. He is joined by Nick Burkinshaw, chairman of Specialty, and Richard Coulson, Specialty Lines underwriter.
St. Petersburg, Fla.-based VIP Software announced the integration of its Bill Audit Pro software with Xactware's XactAnalysis. XactAnalysis identifies errors and opportunities for costs savings in the estimating process. Bill Audit Pro audits invoices against the approved estimates to identify billing overages.
New York City-based insurance startup Lemonade Inc. has announced that it has secured $13 million in funding in a round led by Aleph and Sequoia Capital. Lemonade says it will set up the world's first peer-to-peer insurance company.
