Earlier this month, Contractor Connection held its sixth annual Global Day of Service. As part of the event, affiliated general contractors and their employees from around the world organize volunteer projects in their communities and work together as a team to enhance their local areas.
DALLASWHITE Property Restoration was among the many companies who volunteered their time and resources to help an organization in need. In Las Vegas, Nevada, the company partnered with the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY), a local nonprofit organization, and performed much needed repairs and renovations in one of their homes.
The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth’s mission is “to eliminate homelessness among Nevada’s youth.” Currently there are 10,000 homeless youth in Nevada. "At NPHY, we provide a variety of different services that are aimed at getting homeless youth off of the streets,” said Vincent Pollard, outreach manager at NPHY. “Perhaps the most important service that we offer is housing. Many of our housing units are advanced in age, and in need of major repairs. Without community-minded organizations like DALLASWHITE providing help and support with service projects, like the one we hosted on October 10th, there would be no way that we could keep our housing units in good condition. At NPHY we want to give our homeless clients not just any place to live, but a great place to live and because of the generosity of DALLASWHITE our clients have just that."

DALLASWHITE’s volunteers spent the day making essential repairs in the home, including electrical, water damage and drywall repairs. In addition, the company’s skilled craftsmen were able to build a new homework station as well as shelving units in the closets to enhance the quality of life for each child. “Our goal is to truly improve the quality of day-to-day life for those in need in our local area,” said Brian Whiteway, president and CEO of DALLASWHITE Property Restoration.
Mission accomplished as the home’s residents were thrilled with the improvements in their living space. DALLASWHITE extended a special thank you to Solid State Electrical and Dunn Edwards Paints for sending volunteers, as well as 84 Lumber, Lowes, and Habitat for Humanity for donating supplies.
