Willis North America (Willis) announced the appointment of David Wightman as senior vice president and west region surety practice leader of North America. Based in Houston, Wightman will be responsible for Willis's surety operations across Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon and Washington. He will work closely with Willis's global Surety group and Willis's Default Insurance group and property/casualty programs. Wightman brings to Willis more than 30 years of insurance and surety experience. Prior to joining Willis, Wightman served as director of southwest region for Construction Services and Surety Group for Aon Plc.
Brentwood Services Administrators Inc. (BSA), with headquarters in Brentwood, Tennesee, recently promoted Kristin Johnson to the position of claim representative I in the Occupational Accident department. In her new role, Johnson is responsible for reviewing, processing and handling occupational accident claims. Prior to her promotion, Johnson served as a claim examiner in the occupational accident program since March 2014 and a claim assistant with BSA for a client's occupational injury program since she joined BSA in August 2010.
The American Insurance Association (AIA) appointed Katherine Pettibone in the position of Western Region vice president for state affairs, effective October 1. Pettibone joins AIA from the Civil Justice Association of California (CJAC), where she served as legislative director since 2010. Pettibone will be based in the association's Sacramento, California office. The Western region includes the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. She previously served as a senior legislative analyst in the California Governor's Office of Planning and Research.
BMS Group Ltd. (BMS) announced that David Battman will join the Company as head of International in the New Year, and will report to Nick Cook, CEO of BMS. Most recently, Battman served as managing director of International Business Development for Arthur J. Gallagher International and a partner at Alesco RMS. He recently joined the executive team of Alesco, with responsibility for M&A strategy, distribution and production.
Goji, the nation's largest online, independent auto insurance agency, announced the appointment of Erin Barriere as vice president of Human Resources. Barriere will oversee all efforts to attract, hire, develop and retain the best talent for Goji's immediate expansion plans. Prior to joining Goji, Barriere spent five years serving in executive human resources and talent acquisition roles at top insurance leaders including USI Insurance Services and Marsh and McLennan Companies. Barriere's new appointment begins with an important corporate expansion: opening Goji's new facility in Hudson, Massachusetts. The office, located at 2 Cabot Road, will be home to many of Goji's licensed insurance agents, along with new additions to the technology and management teams.
In conjunction with the opening of the 2015 Annual Conference of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices (NAPSLO), underwriting manager and wholesale broker Greene & Associates announced the promotion of Jennifer L. Greene to president. William H. (Bill) Greene III will retain the title of CEO and adds Chairman to his title. Greene & Associates was founded by Bill Greene almost 30 years ago, as a specialty insurance brokerage with a strong emphasis on indepth underwriting and relationship building. Greene & Associates also announced the promotion of veteran Greene team member William G. (Wil) Coté to vice president. For 29 years, Coté has worked closely with Greene in underwriting operations and broker relations.
Advent Insurance Management (Advent), the specialist provider of third party administration (TPA) services for delegated authority underwriting businesses, appointed Paul Argent as a director. Paul was the founder of specialist insurance consultancy Argent Business Solutions, a well-established business with a proven track record of supporting insurers to achieve strategic goals through its consulting services. Paul is highly-experienced in the delegated market and has conducted numerous operational reviews of insurers, coverholders and TPAs. He has also supported Lloyd's managing agents with regulatory approval processes, claims handling, reserve reviews and loss fund reconciliation. The appointment follows Abbey Capital Ltd.'s recent investment in sister company Advent Solutions Management Ltd., before launching Advent Insurance Management and appointing Paul Bermingham as head.
Beecher Carlson appointed Evan Bull as managing director in New York City where he will focus on new business development strategies in the Northeast region. Bull will report to Beecher Carlson's executive managing director of the Northeast Region, John Kerns. Bull brings to Beecher Carlson a wealth of experience in the complex property space based on his career at a large brokerage firm for more than 25 years, which involved a variety of leadership roles where he provided oversight to teams of property brokers as well as individual account leadership on high profile accounts.
