NAPSLO's Next Generation will present a Leadership Seminar Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Marriott Marquis San Diego and all NAPSLO Convention delegates are invited to attend. The seminar will focus on NAPSLO's legislative strategy and feature two members of NAPSLO's Washington, D.C., legislative team as presenters.

Libby Baney and Josh Andrews, with FaegreBD Consulting, will provide background and updates on legislative issues currently facing the surplus lines industry and discuss NAPSLO's legislative strategy and how NAPSLO and industry partners work together to monitor and advocate on these issues.

"We're really pleased to have the opportunity to talk with NAPSLO members directly about some important regulatory and legislative topics," Baney says. "Information sharing is an essential part of the advocacy process, and we're looking forward to being part of that dialogue."

Baney serves as senior director with FaegreBD Consulting, and she has extensive experience helping organizations create and implement public policy solutions. She holds a B.A. and J.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington.

David Dow, AmWINS Brokerage, and NAPSLO's Next Generation President, says that he believes the seminar will be particularly informative for NAPSLO's Next Generation members as a way for them to gain a big picture view of the Association's advocacy strategy and efforts.

"I believe that the Next Generation of insurance as a whole will benefit from becoming more educated on these ongoing legislative issues," Dow said. "It's important for us all to be aware of the process in Washington that will shape the future of this industry in which we all have a vested interest."

The workshop will be held in the Temecula Ballroom on Level 1 of the Marriott Marquis San Diego.
