Liberty Mutual National Insurance Property announced the appointment of Dan Feige as division underwriting manager for its Inland Marine division. Feige brings more than 20 years of inland marine and product management experience to Liberty Mutual. He is responsible for strategically growing the firm's large inland marine business to help meet the needs of brokers and risk managers. Prior to his appointment at Liberty Mutual, Feige served as vice president of North American Product Underwriting at Zurich Insurance and managed the marine and engineering lines.
Risk Settlements announced its appointment of Steven Schienvar as managing director. Prior to joining Risk settlements, Schienvar served in various positions at AIG for 13 years. “I'm very excited to join an innovative group that designed the nation's first post-loss class action settlement insurance product (CASI) available in the market place. Our proprietary algorithms, industry-leading database and unique approach to settlement design create effective solutions for companies facing intractable class action liability,” said Schienvar.
Horace Mann Education Corporation announced that Kelly Stacy will join the company as senior vice president of Field Operations and Distribution. In his new capacity, he will lead the company's exclusive agency distribution channel and national field operations. Most recently, Stacy served as regional president of the Northeast Region at the Hanover Insurance Group. Prior to that, Stacy served as vice president of Distribution and Field Management at The Travelers Companies. Stephen Cardinal, previously chief marketing officer, will transition into the role of strategic marketing and will continue to report to Zuraitis, while William Caldwell was promoted to executive vice president, Property & Casualty, and continues to lead the Property & Casualty Operations and the customer contact center.
Westfield Insurance has hired Brian Roche as group procurement leader. Roche will be responsible for the company's overall procurement strategy, which includes strategic sourcing practices, purchase-to-pay policies and the vendor risk management program. Roche joins Westfield with 15 years of procurement, financial and leadership experience. Prior to joining Westfield, Roche served in various leadership positions managing vendor risk, sourcing events and technology and training programs at Citizens Bank.
Marsh announced its appointment of Don Bailey as head of global sales. Bailey, who will be based in New York, will be a member of the Marsh Executive Committee and will report directly to Peter Zaffino, president and CEO of Marsh. With more than 25 years of insurance industry experience, Bailey will assume the role of leading Marsh's global sales function and continue the company's focus on driving profitable growth. Working closely with Marsh's regional business leaders, Bailey will help to enhance sales capabilities to grow top line revenue.
RKH Specialty, a member of the Hyperion Insurance Group, announced the hiring of Gert Schlossmacher as co-managing director of its Financial Risks Division. Schlossmacher will assume this new role in January 2016 and will report to Barnaby Rugge-Price, CEO of RKH Specialty. Prior to joining RKH, Schlossmacher was Group Head of Global Sales at Euler Hermes, where he served for almost 25 years. In his new capacity, Schlossmacher will work alongside Neil Galletti and will focus on international trade credit business. Additionally, Schlossmacher will work closely with Hyperion's international retail broking business, Howden International, helping to capitalize on trade credit opportunities, while advising the Group's international strategy.
Breckenridge Insurance Services announced the addition of three proven experience industry brokers. The new hires will support the company's national expansion plans and commitment to offer its retail partners expert advice and access to quality commercial excess and surplus lines and binding authorities. Patricia Berry will assume the role of regional vice president/senior broker for Atlanta, Georgia; Jacksonville, Florida; and Charlotte, North Carolina. With 25 years of industry experience, Berry previously served as senior vice president, property broker and inaugural team leader at Peachtree Special Risk Brokers. Christopher Holmes will serve as vice president/broker in the Charlotte, North Carolina office. With almost 14 years of underwriting and brokerage experience, Holmes will seek to further develop the region. Paul Hamilton joins the team as vice president/broker in the Atlanta, Georgia office. Hamilton recently served as sales team leader and recognized producer at Hull & Co. Hamilton's primary focus will be on building his property book of business.
The Arbella Insurance Group announced that Paul Brady, chief information officer and vice president of information technology was awarded Boston Business Journal's 2015 CIO of the Year Award. Brady was honored in the Enterprise category, which represents companies with over $500 million in revenue. The annual CIO of the Year Award recognizes chief information officers who demonstrate excellence in technology leadership.
Tom Phelan joins JLT Re North America as senior vice president. As part of the Specialty Reinsurance Brokerage unit, Phelan will focus on the professional liability and specialty casualty areas. Phelan brings to JLT over 25 years of reinsurance experience and most recently served as senior vice president at Willis Re. Starting late July, Phelan will begin to establish a presence for JLT Re in Atlanta, Ga. JLT Re has also appointed Mark Sleet as a partner, focusing on General Casualty. Lee Collins has been appointed as a partner. Adrian Steele will be joining the JLT Re team from Oxford Insurance Brokers Ltd in August 2015. Both Collins and Steele will be focusing on specialty and professional Lines.
