Craig Sparks, non-executive Chairman of Union Standard, was awarded the “Raymond Mauk Leadership Award” on Thursday, July 9, in Austin, Texas, at the 23rd Annual Insurance Council of Texas (ICT) Mid-Year Property and Casualty Symposium. Sparks is the 18th recipient of this prestigious award, which is presented each year by ICT at its annual symposium. As the council's highest honor, it recognizes individuals whose contributions have made a significant difference in the insurance business.
Lockton announced its appointment of Jay Chappell as Chief Operating Officer for its Lockton Dallas/Fortworth property-casualty operations. Chappell brings more than 20 years of strategic planning and business development experience and will lead a team of 125 associates in both Dallas and Fort Worth. Chappell will provide leadership and strategic business oversight for client service for Lockton's risk management. With an emphasis on Fortune 1000 and middle market companies, the operation serves more than 800 clients.
Willis Group Holdings announced the appointment of Nicolas Aubert, Willis GB CEO, to the Executive Committee and Board of the London & International Insurance Brokers' Association (LIIBA). Aubert is also appointed to the London Market Group (LMG) as a LIIBA representative.
Spencer Re has appointed Justin Jones as vice president of sales. Prior to joining Spencer Re, Jones served as vice president at Coffeen Management where he built and managed the national sales team while he simultaneously developed and managed complex insurance transactions for dealer acquisitions. Soon after he began his career selling cars, Jones became an F&I manager, sales manager, F&I director, then general sales manager.
Jeffrey Cornwell has joined Cunningham Lindsay as U.S. head of Forensic Advisory Services (FAS). FAS is an independent division that specializes in the quantification of business interruption and financial losses incident to insurance claims. With more than 30 years forensic accounting expertise, Jeffrey will lead the division's team of professionals in the expansion of Cunningham Lindsay's Forensic Advisory Services Team into the U.S. Jeffrey will also work closely with Cunningham Lindsay's Major and Complex Loss (MCL) team, along with other adjusters in the industry on catastrophe and major loss quantification.
Assurance announced the addition of Jason Mandik as vice president for its Property & Casualty division. With more than 10 years of insurance experience, Mandik will consult staffing executives on workers' compensation and other business insurance solutions.
Assurance also announced the appointment of Jeff Ciecko to its surety practice. Ciecko, who will serve as vice president, will focus on construction and commercial surety products for mid-market to national companies.
