The first full day of RIMS 2015 opened Monday morning with the general session and opening keynote at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La.
After breakfast, the general session opened with an inspiring performance by the talented Joyful & the Spirit of New Orleans choir, who were also featured in a special video presentation that played at the start of the session. The RIMS board of directors were announced and Rick Roberts and Mary Roth welcomed the crowd to RIMS 2015.
Roberts, president, and Roth, executive director of RIMS, opened the general session by welcoming attendees, catching them up on the organization's latest initiatives, and giving a preview of what's in store for the coming week at RIMS 2015. They then introduced the opening keynote speaker.
Graffiti artist Erik Wahl delivered an insightful opening keynote where he encouraged risk managers to tap into their creative side and take some risks, all while showing off his talents by painting portraits of U2′s Bono, the late Steve Jobs, and Wahl's own inspiration, Albert Einstein.
