Jenney Petersen of Brightway Insurance was voted Most Valuable Player of the Large Chapter of the Network of Vertafore Users (NetVU) last week. She was honored at the NetVU awards that took place in Indianapolis last week.
NetVU also announced its new chairman as Keith A. Savino. Savino is COO for Warwick Resource Group and past president of National Association of Professional Insurance Agents for New Jersey.
J.M. Wilson promoted Jenna Caschetta to P&C underwriter at their Arlington Heights, Ill., Location. She will be responsible for quoting new and renewal accounts along with issuing policies and managing accounts for independent agents.
AIG announced that Gaurav D. Garg will be CEO of its personal insurance division. Garg had worked for AIG for 12 years before going to Mercer.
Florida House of Representatives member Patrick Murphy will speak at Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America's luncheon aimed at young insurers. The meeting, the Young Agents & InsurPac State Chairpersons Legislative Luncheon at the annual Big "I" Legislative Conference, will be held April 22 in Washington, D.C.
Owner of Brightway St. Johns, Donna Bavier, received the Laurel Award for Top Producer of Homeowners Insurance, given by the Northeast Florida Builders Association Sales and Marketing Council. The award was given to Bavier earlier this month at the twentieth annual Laurel Awards Ceremony in Florida.
Super-regional P&C insurer Westfield Insurance promoted Kristine Neate this week to its new role, the national underwriting office leader. She will be responsible for refining underwriting practices and mange product portfolios for the company.
Claims management solutions provider Crawford & Company appointed Maria "Gigi" Necita B. Geronimo as general manager of the company's Global Business Service Center based out of the Philippines. Geronimo will be in charge of managing operations including global consolidation of specific business functions.
NEW PROGRAMS
Allianz Group's Global Corporate & Specialty announced last week their expansion of financial lines insurance products in North America. Laura F. Coppola will head the group as head of management liability commercial North America.
Dynetics developed a portfolio of risk management solutions called RiskScope to help at-risk businesses figure out the impact of a cyber attack, most common cyber threats today and what levels would be appropriate for cyber security. RiskScope primarily uses infographics to communicate the risk and helps mangers fully understand their business risk.
ACE Commercial Risk Services announced a new package insurance product and coverages available through ACE Solutions Fast Track, offered through a Business Owners Policy. The company says that Fast Track can issue policies for brokers in less than five minutes.

Both the Hanover Insurance Group and the Cincinnati Insurance Company were named the national and regional winners for the Network of Vertafore Users (NetVU) Quantam Awards. The announcement was made at NetVU's 2015 conference last week. The BW Insurance Agency and the Caton-Hosey Insurance Agency also were also awarded Automation Excellence Awards at the conference.
M&A
Insurance broker and consultant, NFP, has expanded its P&C division by acquiring Arizona-based Weber's Insurance Service Inc. and Weber's Assurance Group LLC. The group will use Weber's owner, Bill Weber, as the managing director of NFP Property & Casualty.
Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. announced yesterday the beginnings of talks to acquire Montpellier Re Holdings Ltd. The agreement will include a $450 million cash transaction along with 21.5 million of Endurance shares.
Personal lines provider Confie Seguros announced this week their acquisition of three East Coast insurance brokerages. The firms include Florida-based Your Insurance Spot, Inc., South Carolina-based Wise Insurance Agency and New York-based Bronkie Agency. The latest acquisitions put Confie Seguros at 80 total mergers since their inception.
