The insurance industry has produced some of the most memorable and effective commercials over the years, and also a few that have missed the mark. During last night's telecast of Super Bowl XLIX, several insurance companies, including Esurance, Geico and Nationwide, aired commercials during the game, one of which spawned memes by halftime. Watch all the commercials and tell PC360 in the comment section how you would grade each one.

Lindsay Lohan knows her reputation as a terrible driver and pokes fun at it in Esurance's first commercial to air during the game. The actress was arrested for DUIs in May and July of 2007.

Walter White briefly returns to television in a spot that continues Esurance's theme of making sure that customers pay for what's right for them, not someone "sorta" like them.

Geico continues its popular series with former Cincinnatti Bengals running back Ickey Woods. The insurer also aired its "Push It" commercial during the game.

Nationwide's first--and non-controversial--Super Bowl ad featured actress and writer Mindy Kaling, who has an embarrassing moment when she realizes that she does not possess the powers of invisibility.

The most talked about ad of the game--and one that is on many "worst commercial" lists.

The spot, in which a young boy narrates life events that he would not experience because he had died, caused tens of thousands of reactions on social media and was even a meme by halftime.

Nationwide released a statement after the commercial ran, defending the advertisement. "The sole purpose of this message was to start a conversation, not sell insurance," the insurer said. "We knew the ad would spur a variety of reactions. In fact, thousands of people visited MakeSafeHappen.com, a new website to help educate parents and caregivers with information and resources in an effort to make their homes safer and avoid a potential injury or death."
