February 12 and 13 will be the dates for the 36th Annual Atlanta Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) Educational Conference, sponsored by RIMS' Atlanta Chapter.
The conference, to be held at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North, will cover such topics as medical marijuana and opioid alternatives, managing complex liability insurance claims, and identifying your firm's business interruption exposures.
Career development sessions will be offered for professional and student attendees, and licensed insurance professionals can earn continuing education credits.
Last year, the conference raised $45,000 in scholarship funds for a number of educational institutions, including the Spencer Educational Foundation, University of Georgia and Georgia State University. In the past 35 years, Atlanta RIMS has raised more than $800,000 for scholarships.
Nominations also are being accepted–through January 28–for the chapter's Walter H. Buce Jr. Memorial Award to honor an outstanding risk management and insurance professional, which will be presented at the conference.
Online registration for the conference ends Feb. 5.
