Arbella Insurance Group got into the "pink" and joined forces with the Arbella Foundation to raise $34,500 for breast cancer screening in October. The employees raised $17,250, which was matched by the Arbella Insurance Foundation and will support community visits by the Dana-Farber Mammography van, as well as community visits by the Dana-Farber Blum Family Resource Center van.

Pink Day was started in 2009 by Arbella employee Dot Olson, who was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent treatment at Dana-Farber. Employees wear pink, donate money to dress casually, purchase Dana-Farber bracelets and contribute to a number of gift basket drawings. To date the company has raised more than $110,000 for cancer treatment and research.

"Almost everyone in our community has been touched by breast cancer, and Arbella is proud to support Dana-Farber in its mission of bringing cancer education and prevention services to our communities," said John Donohue, chairman, president and CEO of the Arbella Insurance Group and chairman and president of Arbella's Foundation. "Arbella is committed to driving awareness of breast cancer education and prevention by donating to and supporting the outstanding services of Dana-Faber."
