For the third consecutive year, Zurich North America earned a national award for being a leading provider of captive insurance services. This year, the insurer was named the nation’s Best Insurance Company at the 2014 Captive Live USA Conference held on Oct. 6 in Chicago.
"We are pleased that Zurich consistently receives recognition from Captive Review, one of the captive segment's most influential trade publications," said Dan Riordan, CEO of Zurich Global Corporate in North America. "Captive services are a growth segment for Zurich, so this recognition carries added weight in delivering a compelling message to customers. We are committed to this market and have a great deal to offer to help customers better utilize their captives.”
Zurich is one of the nation’s largest commercial insurers, providing a broad range of fronting services for a variety of property, casualty and employee benefits needs. The company also helps captives through a host of reinsurance claims, risk engineering and loss analysis services.
"This award recognizes that it takes teams of talented professionals to do captive programs well, and Zurich is a recognized leader in this industry segment," said Steve Bauman, head of Captive Services for Zurich Global Corporate in North America. "It takes a multi-disciplinary, service-oriented organization with broad underwriting capabilities to achieve such a strong position in the captives industry."
A panel of 11 judges, who are U.S.-based captive owners or risk managers, selected the winners at this year’s U.S. Captive Services Awards. Zurich’s achievement builds on prior years’ recognitions at the U.S. Captive Services Awards. The company has been honored with the Fronter of the Year Award in 2012 and the Collateral Services Provider of the Year in 2013.
“This year’s award carries special significance because it represents a vast, more holistic assessment of Zurich’s strengths as a captive service provider,” Bauman said.
The Captive Live USA Conference brings together the nation’s prime captive insurance and risk management professionals for networking and industry insights. Delegates meet leading advisers and service providers while celebrating excellence in the captive insurance enterprise. More than 200 captive management professionals attended the conference this year, presented by Captive Review magazine.
