Chief information officer at Aon Hewitt, Matthew Heckler, was named to IDG's Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leaders list for the 2015 year. The list spotlights 100 leaders from both technology and business sides of companies, honoring those who have displayed exceptional technology leadership and innovative approaches to business challenges.

Heckler was selected for his contributions to Aon Hewitt's strategic business growth through a focus on operational excellence, integrated solutions and building high-performing teams.

Specifically, Heckler's objectives for his team concern the improvement of technological implementation and sustaining efficiency throughout Aon Hewitt. Some of his notable achievements include:

  • The development of the innovative technology supporting the Aon Retire Health Exchange and the Aon Active Health Exchange
  • The creation of a multi-year application roadmap to drive innovation and accelerate the speed at which Aon takes products and solutions to market, while also focusing on the reduction of an estimated 25% of application spending for non-strategic assets.
  • The improvement of internal efficiencies and services through SaaS and cloud computing, while also building analytics into client solutions to enable Aon to gain market insights and shape future product offerings.
  • The automation and standardization of technologies across HR Business Process Outsourcing services to lower operational costs, improve data accuracy and reduce human capital resources.

Heckler has more than 20 years of experience in IT, and as Aon Hewitt's chief information officer, he is responsible for technology supporting consulting, benefits, HR BPO, emerging solutions and healthcare exchanges.
