Steve Brockmeyer, president and CEO of Bolton & Co. was elected the 2015 chairman of The Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers.

The American Academy of Actuaries board of directors elected Tom Wildsmith to the position of president-elect. Mr. Wildsmith currently serves as a senior public policy manager in Aetna's Washington office, and has served as the Academy's vice president, health from 2010 to 2012.

The National Assn. of Mutual Insurance Cos. presented its State Legislator of the Year Award to three Tennessee legislators, Reps. Curtis Johnson and Charles Sargent, and Sen. Jack Johnson.

Ironshore International appointed Paul Primiani as chairman of Ironshore Canada.

Mike Barone has been named president of Hub International Ltd.'s National Employee Benefits Practice.

 

Mergers & Acquisitions

AssuredPartners Inc. acquired Casualty Assurance of Chaska LLC through its subsidiary, AssuredPartners of Minnesota. Casualty Assurance of Chaska, located in Chaska, Minn., specializes in commercial insurance, employee benefits and personal insurance, serving clients throughout the state.

Assured Neace Lukens, an AssuredPartners Inc. subsidiary, acquired Hukill Hazlett Harrington Agency, based in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area. The agency specializes in coverage for businesses, including workers' compensation, commercial liability insurance and employee benefits solutions, as well as personal lines coverage, including homeowners', auto and health insurance.

USI Insurance Services acquired Wallace Insurance Inc./Scott Insurance Services, a middle-market employee benefits broker, based in Anchorage, Alaska.

 

New Programs

Miller Insurance Services and William Gallagher Assocs. jointly announced the availability of Pandemic Disease Business Interruption Insurance, provided by the Ark Syndicate at Lloyd's. Coverage responds to loss of income arising out of shutdowns of healthcare facilities, as well as diminished revenues in the aftermath of quarantine.
