The MetLife Foundation awarded 12 grants totaling more than $250,000 to Junior Achievement (JA) operations worldwide with the aim of instituting innovative, entrepreneurial programs to help young people thrive economically. Eight JA operations won the 2014 MetLife Foundation 'Entrepreneurial' Award for successfully implemented programming, and four additional JA operations won the 'Sowing the Seeds of Entrepreneurship' Award for their advances in promising, but untested program concepts.
Partners since 2000, JA and MetLife Foundation have expanded selected JA programs worldwide to generate greater impact on the young people they serve through annual awards. Over the past 14 years, 83 Entrepreneurial Awards and 13 Sowing the Seeds of Entrepreneurship Awards have been given to 61 JA operations in 18 countries.
