Some 21,000 California employees of Apple Stores and call centers have filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple Inc., claiming the company broke state labor laws by withholding timely meal and rest breaks.

Judge Ronald Prager of the Superior Court of California for the County of San Diego, who granted the suit class-action status on Monday, noted that Apple had put a new policy into place to comply with California laws in August 2012. The lawsuit was originally filed in 2011, and covers infringements from December 2007 to August 2012.
