Donan continues to lead the way in bringing new technology to the property claims industry by making better tools and better data available to adjusters, claims handlers, and other property inspectors.
Earlier this year, Donan introduced its new mobile application, Donan Mobile, for both Apple iOS® and Android™ platforms. By downloading the free app, users will have access to a set of convenient and easy-to-use tools as they work to accurately and thoroughly document conditions during field inspections.
Investigators can take measurements, capture pictures and add notes, as well as save and send findings—all from their mobile devices. Perhaps the most innovative feature of the app, Donan says, is SubroScoreSM, which is the company's proprietary digital resource for identifying subrogation potential in the field in real-time.
To use SubroScoreSM, the investigator manually enters basic information about a failed product or scans a barcode to automatically populate key fields. Once data is submitted, SubroScoreSM compares it to data in four databases: Donan's Component Testing Archive, The Consumer Products Safety Commission, statute of repose, and Donan's New Trends Database. A proprietary algorithm is applied to generate the final SubroScoreSM, which indicates the subrogation potential of that item based on available data.
The more data a user provides, the more accurate the SubroScoreSM will be. For example, if the state and product age are entered, then the statute of repose database can be queried and the results can impact the final score.
In addition to SubroScoreSM, other features of Donan Mobile include:
- Tool Box – Take photos and measurements simultaneously with camera-enabled instrumentation.
- Roof Guide – Easily search for reference images and do side-by-side comparisons.
- Submit a Project – Submit projects for all Donan service lines quickly and easily from a mobile device.
