Insurance broker Brown & Brown says its E&S professional liability products will now be marketed and sold under the ECC Insurance Brokers Inc. brand.

The move will place the existing professional liability operations of Peachtree Special Risk Brokers, LLC and Hull & Co., Inc. under Oak Brook, Ill.-based ECC with operations in Chicago, Los Angeles, Florida, New York and Dallas.
Founded in 1999, ECC became a subsidiary of Brown & Brown in 2005. Professional liability coverage sold by ECC includes Errors & Omissions; Directors & Officers; Employers Professional Liability; Medical and Financial Institution Business Risk.
Brown & Brown Regional President Anthony Strianese says Roth received a well-deserved promotion and credited him with ECC's growth. He says the new structure will enable the firm to build a single team within the wholesale brokerage division "with depth and expertise in professional lines."
Roth spent years with Philadelphia Insurance Cos. before joining ECC. After the acquisition, the firm promoted him to president and profit center leader. He is currently practice leader for Professional Liability for Brown & Brown's Wholesale Brokerage Division.
Brown & Brown recently added to its wholesale business with the acquisition of Beecher Carlson Holdings Inc. from the private equity firm Austin Ventures, FSPM and a group of individual investors. Amongst the firm's $105 million revenue business mix, 10 percent is niche P&C insurance programs primarily underwriting tribal and construction related risks. The tribal business concentrates on insuring casinos.
Last week, Brown & Brown announced the acquisition of The Rollins Agency, a $5.5 million revenue generalist agency serving clients in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. As part of the transaction, Brown & Brown will close its White Plains, N.Y. office and move into the Rollins office in Rye Brook, N.Y.
