The Hanover Insurance Group is sponsoring the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's 2013 Class Announcement, the second time the property and casualty insurer has been involved with the sports award.

“We're very excited to sponsor this marquis event for the second year in a row,” says Dick Lavey, senior vice president, field operations and marketing at The Hanover. “Our company has a longstanding commitment to community, youth and excellence, and it made sense to partner with an organization that inspires young people to work to achieve excellence and reach their full potential—and always doing it with integrity.”

The official announcement will be broadcast live on NBA TV from Atlanta on the morning of April 8, or Championship Monday of the NCAA Men's Final Four.

Other speakers will include Mannie Jackson, former owner of the Harlem Globetrotters, who is presenting Basketball's Human Spirit Award the day of the event; John Doleva, president and CEO of the Hall of Fame, presenting the 2013 Cousy Award winner; Hall of Fame member and chairman Jerry Colangelo reporting on Enshrinement; and Jim Nantz of CBS Sports announcing the Class of 2013.

“The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame welcomes and appreciates the support of The Hanover Insurance Group as we make several exciting and newsworthy announcements at our press conference at the Final Four,” said Doleva. “Our brands align perfectly in that both reflect excellence in performance and character, along with a commitment to being at the apex of our respective categories.”

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is located in Springfield, Massachusetts, otherwise known as basketball's birthplace, and promotes and preserves the game for both genders at the collegiate and professional levels.
