That big box of cards full of money can be tempting for any thief, which is why 10 percent of claims Travelers received were related to theft.

Weather: 14%
They say rain on your wedding day is good luck, but it can still put a damper on things if a wedding is held outdoors. Similarly, weather events like a snowstorm can cause icy conditions and make a venue inaccessible, and hurricanes and tornadoes can create catastrophic damage in an area.

Venue issues: 15%
Wedding venues can go out of business or experience unfortunate damage from weather-related events, vandalism, or equipment problems. Wedding insurance helps cover deposits lost and the cost of booking a new venue last-minute.
Illness and injury: 19%
Aside from the bride and groom getting sick or hurt, weddings can be put on hold if key family members such as parents or grandparents are unable to attend a wedding at the last minute due to sickness, untimely death, and travel delays.

Vendor problems: 24%
The most common vendor-related claims Travelers received involved the issues with the photographer, caterers going out of business, DJs not showing up, and problems with wedding planners.
