Chaucer, the specialist Lloyd's insurance group, is now offering a new political risk and trade credit coverage in New York.

Mark McLeod, political risk underwriter at Chaucer, has transferred from London to New York to develop a political risk and trade credit account for the Marine Division of Syndicate 1084.

He works from The Hanover offices on Wall Street, developing relationships with brokers and clients directly, as well as seeking out opportunities afforded through The Hanover agency network.

Since joining The Hanover Insurance Group in July 2011, Chaucer has been working closely with The Hanover to identify opportunities for our products and expertise within their agency network.

Andrew Voke, head of Syndicate 1084 production and marine divisional head, says, “The response received from U.S. brokers has been extremely positive. They were very keen for Chaucer to have a local presence in the political risk and trade credit market.”

“This is a unique opportunity for me to develop our political risk and trade credit account at Chaucer, to work closely with my colleagues from The Hanover and to build our profile at a local level in the US,” McLeod says.
