Zurich named Claudia Dill chief operating officer for the General Insurance business, effective July 1, and Dirk De Nil head of sales and distribution for General Insurance, effective June 1. In an unrelated move, the company also named Dan Nash its healthcare practice leader.

Combined Agents of America (CAA) elected a new management committee for 2012-13, including the following:

• CAA President Roger Luttrell, who is also president of Benton-Luttrell-Brown
• Chairman of the Board John V. Shropshire, Jr., also chief executive officer of The Shropshire Agency
• Executive Vice President Don B. Hudson, also vice president of JHC Insurance Agency
• Second Vice President Bill Martin, also president of Grona Boles Martin Bloxsom Insurance
• Secretary Robert Porter, also chief executive officer of Porter Insurance Agency
• Treasurer Denny Bryan, also president of Bryan Insurance Agency 
• Past President Lloyd Eisenrich, also president of The Weatherby-Eisenrich 

IMA hired Leisha Cadwallader as vice president of employee benefits in its Dallas office. She will oversee growth of IMA's employee benefits presence in the Dallas market. Prior, Cadwallader worked for, “a leading national brokerage as well as a large regional brokerage where she helped employers implement benefits and human resources strategies that realized significant cost savings,” according to IMA's press release.

Burns & Wilcox of Baltimore promoted Geoffrey Crater to assistant branch manager. He joined the company in January as director of sales. He then was selected to participate in the Kaufman Accelerated Management Progression Program.

Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. appointed Eric Shanks to senior vice president, personal insurance underwriting executive. He will provide strategic and operational direction for the personal insurance underwriting and product management team. Prior, Shanks served as senior vice president at Chartis.
