IMMS expands with marketing expert: Insurance marketing specialist Ted Huntington has been hired as assistant vice president of sales and marketing for Insurance Marketing & Management Services (IMMS). IMMS President and CEO Adrian Holloway said Huntington will be responsible for helping the organization exceed its growth goals. Huntington has run his own insurance marketing consulting firm for the past six years and previously served as director of advertising/avp of marketing for Mercury Insurance Group from 1995-2005.
Promotion marks commercial sales for National Security Global Business: Battelle's National Security Global Business (NSGB), a leading solution provider for the United States Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security, is expanding its impact in commercial markets such as aerospace and transportation, as well as tools for banking and insurance industries. To lead this expansion, Battelle recently promoted Lee Ann Schwope to vice president and manager of the national security commercial and international markets. Schwope grew Battelle's commercial armor business, expanding the reach within the U.S. and internationally. Now, the New York native oversees a new business development area with a growing sales staff.

Signature Select acquires Cassell Insurance : Cassell Insurance, a broker specializing in personal lines and business insurance, has been acquired Signature Select— a retail insurance broker subsidiary of the IMA Financial Group with 450 employees and offices in six markets across the nation. The acquisition of Cassell adds five talented individuals to Signature Select’s staff in Wichita and two in Emporia. Signature Select provides personal insurance services, such as home and auto insurance, and business insurance solutions for small- to mid-sized organizations.

Wells Fargo introduces new housing insurance program: Wells Fargo Insurance Services and the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) has launched the multifamily affordable housing insurance program (MAHIP), an insurance program designed to meet the specific needs of the affordable housing industry nationally. MAHIP allows customers to have access to coverage for projects participating in the low-income housing tax credit program, bed bug infestation coverage and tenant discrimination protection for multifamily property owners and managers against the rising number of tenant discrimination claims based on the Fair Housing Act and other regulatory agencies.
Chubb protects in-house attorneys from allegations of malpractice: A new policy from the Chubb Group of Insurance Cos. helps protect the personal assets of in-house attorneys. Employed lawyers professional liability offers in-house attorneys and their employers’ broad protection against allegations of legal malpractice stemming from the services provided by in-house counsel for activities such as the review of shareholder communications and the issuance of legal opinions to the board of directors. Coverage is provided for judgments, settlements and defense costs. It also extends to civil penalties leveled against in-house counsel under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
