Guidewire Software, a provider of core system software to property & casualty insurers, announces the availability of IBM Cognos Business Intelligence software as a pre-integrated reporting option with Guidewire InsuranceSuite systems for underwriting and policy administration, claims management, and billing.
In addition, Guidewire announces the signing of its 100th customer. Citizens Property Insurance has selected Guidewire InsuranceSuite as its platform for underwriting and policy administration, claims management, and billing for all lines of business.
"Property & casualty insurance is a very information rich industry," says Karlyn Carnahan, principal at Novarica on the relationship between Guidewire and IBM. "Siloed systems, incompatible data models, and legacy technology have hindered the industry's ability to fully benefit from its data. Tightly integrating BI capabilities with core claims solutions gives p&c insurers the ability to leverage rich claims data for better decision making."
"In our efforts to continuously improve our solutions and meet the needs of our customers, we looked for ways to enhance our business intelligence and analytics capabilities," says Neil Betteridge, vice president, strategy, Guidewire Software. "We are excited to offer our customers worldwide, the high business value capabilities of the Cognos BI solution which is backed by the strength, stability and global support infrastructure of IBM, a long-time Guidewire alliance partner."
"We are pleased to join Guidewire to provide our reporting and analytics solution as a complement to their core systems," says Craig Bedell, worldwide insurance industry executive, business analytics and optimization, IBM. "Together our solutions provide insurers with powerful, flexible reporting and analytics capabilities in order to optimize performance, financial benefits and ultimately customer satisfaction."
Citizens' goal is to implement best practices and improve its operational efficiencies by retiring its legacy systems and consolidating its data and processes onto a modern core system platform.
"We welcome Citizens as the 100th insurer to join the Guidewire customer community," says Marcus Ryu, CEO of Guidewire. "We are honored to have been selected by them, and indirectly by the citizens of Florida, as the key technology partner in their ambitious program of legacy system replacement."
"We view our customer relationships as long-term partnerships," says Alex Naddaff, vice president, professional services, Guidewire. "As with the customers before them, we enter our relationship with Citizens recognizing the challenges but confident of success."
Ryu continued, "Guidewire was founded in the conviction that a great core system suite, built on modern software engineering principles, would serve the P/C industry far better than the custom development and legacy systems we saw everywhere. A decade later, it is gratifying to have significant confirmation of that belief."
