Jason Buechler New VP of Underwriting at NHIC

Jayson Buechler has been hired as vice president of underwriting at Normandy Harbor Insurance Co. (NHIC), a workers' compensation insurance carrier based in Miami Beach. Prior to joining NHIC, Buechler was the vice president of program management for Patriot Underwriters, Inc., and has held similar management positions with The Zenith and Michigan Commercial Insurance Mutual.

Barney Bishop to Leave AIF

Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) President & CEO Barney T. Bishop III has submitted his resignation to the AIF Board of Directors effective Dec. 31, 2011. 

"Once the legislative session ended, I started thinking about what my goals were both at AIF and in my personal life. I realized I had achieved my goals of rebuilding AIF and the organization was in a very good place. Working at AIF has been the highlight of my career and a challenge I feel proud to have met head on," says Bishop. Bishop says he made the announcement now to ensure a smooth and seamless transition to the organization's next president and CEO.

Bishop will continue his relationship with AIF in 2012 with a consulting agreement that will begin on Jan. 1, 2012. 

Oliver Ostlander Promoted at Orchid Medical

Orchid Medical has hired Oliver Ostlander as senior vice president of operations and technology. Ostlander, who joined Orchid in July, is responsible for the on-going development of OMNI (Orchid Medical Network Integration), the company's proprietary Web-based software system that helps adjusters, case managers, employers, and vendors submit and track orders via the Internet. The system can be customized to enhance the client's business model and operational performance.

Prior to joining Orchid Medical, Ostlander served as vice oresident of EK Health Services and executive director of operations at Coventry Health Care.

Headquartered in Orlando, Orchid Medical is a nationwide ancillary healthcare service company specializing in the workers' compensation market.
