SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Allstate Insurance Co. said Tuesday that it's now offering identity theft insurance in California.
The insurance will cover expenses related to identity theft and is designed to help reduce the time and costs that victims spend trying to recover their identities, Allstate said.
The identity theft expense coverage is available to new and renewing Allstate automotive policyholders in California for as low as $30 a year. The policy provides up to $25,000 in reimbursement coverage for expenses incurred to restore identity, including attorney fees, loan reapplication fees, credit and police report fees, and lost wages, the company said.
