The Vermont Captive Insurance Association presented the following awards at its conference last week in Vermont:

  • The Captive Crusader Award went to Carol M. Pierce, vice president, Specialty Insurance Division with Munich Reinsurance America, Inc. She also is a VCIA board member. The Captive Crusader recipient is chosen by the VCIA staff to recognize service and commitment to the organization.
  • The Industry Service Award went to Debbie Lambert, a founding partner of Johnson Lambert & Co., past-chair of the National Risk Retention Association (NRRA). VCIA's board of directors chooses the award recipient annually to recognize members who have best supported the captive insurance industry and made contributions to the overall vitality and general welfare of the industry.
  • The Honorary Member Award went to John Primmer, member of the law firm Primmer Piper Eggleston & Cramer. The award is presented to individuals who, through extended periods of outstanding service or achievement, have demonstrated commitment and made contributions that have furthered the goals of VCIA and also strengthened the captive industry.
