Munich hires new CEO: Munich Reinsurance America has hired Greg Barats as the CEO of HSB Group. Barats joined HSB in 2002 and led its engineering operations, fee-based businesses, and chaired the company's efforts in developing opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

 

Markel reports wholesale promotions:  Markel Corp. has promoted four of its employees from their wholesale division. Sarah Gavlick, Steve Girard and Susan Swanson are taking on the role of regional president and Wendy Houser will be managing director of wholesale marketing.

Hanover expands policy: The Hanover Insurance Group offers access to environmental liability protection with its specialty industrial solution for manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors. This will help protect industrial businesses against a growing number of environmental risks and enable independant agent partners to take advantage of manufacturing industry opportunities.

 

Brownyard launches new landscaper program: Brownyard Group has started a new insurance program for landscape professionals called groundcover. The policy includes pesticide/herbicide applicator and care, custody and control coverage.
