Hail that struck parts of Colorado and southeastern Wyoming is expected to cause about $164.8 million in insured losses, according to the Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association (RMIIA).
The RMIIA says the insured damage is primarily to cars and homes after the hail “cut a swath through Colorado…accompanied by monsoonal rainfall that flooded streets and property on a daily basis” last week starting on July 13.

The association says there have been approximately 29,800 claims filed—17,200 auto claims and 12,600 homeowners' claims.
Hail occurring on July 18 alone is expected to cause $120 million from approximately 19,800 claims, according to the RMIIA.
