Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn has appointed Jack Messmore as acting insurance director.
Messmore assumed his role on Monday after serving as deputy director, assistant deputy director and examiner-in-charge over 25 years at the Department of Insurance.
He replaces Michael McRaith, who departed to become the first director of the Federal Insurance Office.
