Gray Nester was named the chairman of NetVu during its recent annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.
Nester, senior vice president of BB&T Insurance Services Inc., will serve a one year term replacing Carl Schlotman, the outgoing chairman and principal at CAI Insurance Agency Inc.
The association also issued the following awards:
• Cyndy Smith, vice president and director of technology for Haylor Freyer & Coon Inc. received the 2011 Louie E. Woodbury Jr. leadership award.
• Carolyn “Cal” Durland, director of member relations for ACORD received the Wade S. Dunbar Jr. award.
• The Chairman's award went to Kathie L. Ryan training coordinator of J.W. Terrill Inc. and Todd Doster, Sagitta Administrator of McQueary Henry Bowles Troy LLP.
Receiving the Quantum Awards for carrier commitment to NetVu agencies were:
• Allied Insurance
• Selective Insurance
Bank of America's Irvine, Calif.-based agency, BAISI, received the association's Automation Excellence award.
Irving, Texas-based NetVu is the user group association for insurance software provider Vertafore.
