The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers endorsed the Employee Benefits Producer Training Program, a two-week course for employee benefits sales professionals.
The program was developed by the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
"This program teaches participants highly effective selling techniques and we're excited to be endorsing it in support of member firm growth," says the Council President Ken A. Crerar. "The Employee Benefits Producer Training Program lays out a proven sales process, develops successful selling skills and teaches the technical complexities of employee benefits."
The Council also announced it named Susan Rushford senior vice president of marketing and communications.
Rushford joins the Council after 30 years of marketing and advertising experience on both the agency and client side of the business.
She has managed and supervised brand development for retail, consumer, and corporate programs including Spirit Airlines, The HMX Group, Next Day Blinds/Great Windows, and The American Physical Therapy Association.
She has also developed integrated marketing and multi-lingual national public service campaigns for the U.S. Treasury, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration.
Most recently, she served more than three years as Account Supervisor at Siquis, Ltd., where she managed online and offline advertising and marketing efforts for Spirit Airlines and various brands within the HMX Group, and oversaw the launch of the corporate website for Ankota.
