The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut has named James Berliner, of Danbury, Conn., president of the association.
Mr. Berliner’s election was announced last week at the association’s annual meeting last week.
Mr. Berliner is president of the agency Berliner-Gelfand & Co. Inc., in Bridgeport, Conn.
He served as president-elect for the 2010-2011 term and was vice president for the 2009-2010 term. He is vice president of PIA Connecticut’s Administrative and Nominations Committee. He is also a member of the Executive and Budget and Finance Committee and ex-officio member of the Association Programs and Legislative Business Issues Committees.
Also elected to one year terms were:
- President-elect: Timothy Russell of Sandy Hook, Conn. Mr. Russell is senior member of The Russell Agency, LLC., in Southport, Conn.
- Vice president: Brian Schmitt Sr. of Shelton, Conn. Mr. Schmitt is president of Curtiss, Crandon & Moffette Inc. in Trumbull, Conn.
- Vice president: Augusto Russell of Farmington, Conn. Mr. Russell is a partner at May, Bonee & Walsh Inc. in East Berlin, Conn.
- Treasurer: Peter Frascarelli, of Cheshire, Conn. Mr. Frascarelli is chief operating officer for the Peter M. Bakker Agency Inc., in Avon, Conn.
- Secretary: Teri Walsh, of Fairfield, Conn. Ms. Walsh is vice president of Sachs Walsh Insurance in Westport, Conn.
- Howard Olderman, of Milford, Conn., will serve as immediate past president. Mr. Olderman is president of The Olderman and Hallihan Agency Inc. in Ansonia, Conn.
